New Look, New Dates

Hey everyone :)

As you may well have noticed, the website has been 'pimped' a little. We have been asking around and, frankly, you guys were a little unhappy! You wanted more and more, and it never seemed enough! Well, do you know you sound just like your Mother when you carry on like that? "Its not good enough" and "You never make time for me" and "use clearer fonts!"

Also, it seems some things were difficult to read. So hopefully we have stemmed the flow of discontent and youse will all enjoy the site a bit more and that. Thanks for the feed back!

Also, yet more dates have been added to the calendar, so for heavens sake stop moaning that I never take you out anymore! And no, your bum does not look big in that!

Lock the door on your way out....

...see you at the gigs!

Intriguing...

-The longest note held in a chart hit is held by Morten Harket, lead singer with A-Ha. In 'Summer Moved On' (from June 2000) he holds a vocal note for 20.2 seconds.

-Prince's father was a pianist and songwriter and his mother was a jazz singer. Prince was named after his father, whose stage name was Prince Rogers.

-In 1977 Elvis Presley saw a petrol station attendant being attacked by two youths. He got out of his limo and took up a karate stance. The shock of being confronted by the star calmed them down.

-The oldest artist to hit #1 on the US Hot 100 is Louis Armstrong in 1964 with ‘Hello, Dolly!’, at the age of 63 and 10 months

-Since their inception, Guns N' Roses have had 21 full-time band members.

-U2 have won more Grammy Awards than any other band, a total of 22.

-In 1997, a Smiths fan held up a Denver radio station at gunpoint demanding that they played nothing but records by The Smiths. They did for five hours until the police arrived.

On This Day In Music....

1949, RCA Records issued the first ever 45rpm single, the invention of this size record made jukeboxes possible.

1963, 17 year-old Neil Young performed his first professional date at a country club in Winnipeg.

1964, The Beatles started a seven week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'I Want To Hold Your Hand', the first US No.1 by a UK act since The Tornadoes 'Telstar' in 1962 and the first of three consecutive No.1's from the group.

1972, Chuck Berry had his first UK No.1 single with a live recording of a song he'd been playing live for over 20 years 'My Ding-a-Ling'. UK public morality campaigner Mary Whitehouse attempted to have the song banned due to its innuendo-laden lyrics.

1997, Boy George was beaten up by two bouncers after trying to jump the queue outside The Ministry Of Sound in London where George had been a guest DJ.

2009, Bruce Springsteen started a two week run at No.1 on the UK album chart with 'Working on a Dream' his 16th studio album.

We Wish you A Merry Christmas...

All of us here in Camp Suspect wish you all a wonderful, happy and healthy Christmas...we have one gig left this year and a massive start to 2012.

Whilst on our trek and return from the Hunter Valley this weekend the Kluger was abuzz with what 2012 may bring to The Usual Suspects, and we have some great ideas planned so stay tuned.

Many many thanks and Christmas tidings to the Honarary Suspects that jumped in, often at short notice, to ensure that the show went on...Richard Kenna for pitching in on a couple of away games and amazing us with what you came up with in such a short time. For your great humour and awesome playing and showmanship. To Dave Barnes for pitch hitting when required and for providing deep rich and tonal awesomeness, and for sharing a scotch or two. And of course...Simply Dan, for providing the band with edge, rock, laughter and deeper knee bends than anyone anywhere, time after time...travelling and playing with you is always a ride...

To the venue owners/managers and agents for booking and (always) rebooking us. And for allowing us to make a little bit of money doing what we love doing.

To our families and loved ones for putting up with the weekends without us and listening to us relay the highlights through tired voices and red eyes.

To the Suspects themselves...what a year...it's a gas gas gas...love youse all

And to you, the audiences, particularly those that made trips to see us and who come along regularly to support and encourage us...without you there would be no band...

Have a great break and we will see you at The Royal Hotel, Springwood to see away 2011...

Dave, Paul, Steve and Rod
